The Girl Child

In Naija, the girl child seems to be most endangered, she gets used to being called "my wife" from the day one. At the age of 9 and sometimes 12 she realizes that the look on the faces of men whenever she walks by is different from her brother's and father's. She must have been an angel if she has not been kissed, caressed or defiled by the time she turns 16. There is always a Prince Charming about this time who will make her go through her first heartbreak.

It's hard for a girl out there! But against all odds, there are still a few of them who are trying to protect their flowers until their wedding night, perhaps with patience and good luck they will make it through.
